One of the improvements we’ve wanted to do for some time was to improve the Long Barns accessibility by changing a bathroom.
3 of our bathrooms have walk in showers, but all are on the first floor. The remaining bathrooms have showers over the bath to give guests a choice. So we decided that we’d convert a bathroom on the ground floor into a walk in shower.
We closed the Long Barn for two weeks earlier this year to allow us to do some general decorating to freshen both barns up as well. As to do the big job of the bathroom conversion.
Whilst not quite the scale of the tv show DIY SOS, it was a challenge to get the work done in the time between guests.
Ian worked his socks off to get the new shower plumbed in before our tiler Phil arrived. Jackie helped with helping with clearing and taking off wall tiles. As well as making lots of cups of tea.
We’re really pleased with the result and have had great feedback from guests. The grab rail arrives this week and it will then be complete.
Both bath and screen were recycled to another home via our vilage Facebook page.
