Dogs are very welcome at the Long Barn. We appreciate that your dogs are part of the family and many guests want to bring their four-legged friend away with them. Self catering holidays are perfect for dogs and their human familes.

The North York Moors is a perfect place for your pooch. From its dog friendly beaches to its beautiful historic sites. Not to mention the masses of pubs and cafes who welcome dogs.

Along with a welcome hamper for two-legged guests, we provide a one for dogs. In it you’ll find towels, doggy biscuit treats and compostable poo bags. There is also a water bowl outside to give them a drink when they arrive.

Close the gate over the cattle grid and the courtyard garden is enclosed and secure. Your dogs can then have a run without your supervison.

We appreciate that dogs love getting wet and muddy. The Seven river on the walk down to Sinnington is a dog magnet for those who like a swim or wade. You’ll find a cleaning station at the front door to help you clean up your dog when you get back.

Whilst we don’t have dogs of our own (yet…Jackie is working on Ian…) we have picked the brains of many village dog owners for their recomended walks. Details are in our welcome guide. Just keep your dog on a lead in the village as Appleton le Moors has free range sheep.
