Intimate, multi-day wedding celebrations in the North York Moors

From 2026, we will be licensed to host a small number of intimate weddings each year at the Long Barn in North Yorkshire set within the North York Moors.

For years, the Long Barn has been a place where people come together. Big birthdays, family reunions, anniversary weekends and multi generational gatherings. The sort of stays where the dining table is rarely empty and conversations carry on long after the plates are cleared.

Weddings feel like a natural extension of that.

We are not a traditional wedding venue in North Yorkshire, and we do not want to be. The Long Barn offers something more personal. A relaxed, beautifully designed space in the North York Moors where you can gather your closest  people, stay under one roof and celebrate over a few unhurried days.

There is rustic character, thoughtful detail and space to breathe. Cosy corners for quiet chats, long tables for shared meals, and countryside walks straight from the door. It feels special without feeling formal. Just the right backdrop for an intimate North Yorkshire wedding that is heartfelt, joyful and completely your own.

An exclusive place to stay and celebrate

Weddings here are three or four day exclusive use stays in the heart of North Yorkshire. That means no rushing in for a few hours and heading home. You arrive, unpack, settle in and make it your own.

With seven large, equally sized ensuite bedrooms, up to 14 guests can stay together comfortably. There is no best room and no compromises, just generous space for everyone to feel at home.

From a relaxed supper the night before, to slow coffees on the morning of the ceremony, to lingering conversations the day after, the celebration unfolds naturally. It feels less like an event and more like time well spent together.

We have always been dog friendly, welcoming up to four dogs as part of a stay, and weddings are no different. If your dog is part of your family life, they are welcome to be part of this too.

We do not offer ceremony only weddings. Every wedding at the Long Barn is built around a shared stay. It is about gathering properly, not squeezing everything into a single afternoon.

For us, this feels like a very natural next step. After years of welcoming families to celebrate life’s important moments here, opening the Long Barn for a small number of intimate weddings in North Yorkshire feels both exciting and right. We care deeply about this place and about the people who stay here, and we are genuinely looking forward to welcoming our first couples to say I do.

The ceremony

Civil or celebrant led ceremonies take place in the West Barn, a characterful and flexible space that you can style to reflect your own vision. From understated and natural to softly dressed with flowers and candlelight; it’s your choice.

Because weddings are exclusive-use, the focus stays firmly on you and your guests, without distractions or other events taking place around you.

A different approach to weddings

By hosting just ten weddings each year, we’re able to preserve the calm, generous feel that makes the Long Barn such a special place to celebrate.

It also means each couple receives the care, flexibility and attention their wedding deserves, while the Long Barn remains a relaxed and welcoming place to stay.

Couples can choose between:

Midweek weddings,  ideal for a quieter, more unhurried pace

Weekend weddings, perfect for bringing loved ones together from further afield

We limit weddings to 14 people in total, the couple and those staying at the Long Barn. That is very much by design. It keeps the day personal, relaxed and shared by the people who matter most.

Time together

One of the joys of a wedding at the Long Barn is having time to simply be together.

 – Time for guests to arrive and settle in.
 – Time for shared meals and conversations that linger.
 – Time for walks straight from the door into the North York Moors.
 – Time to unwind after the ceremony, without rushing away.

The Long Barn offers space for celebration, but also for quiet moments; the kind that often become the most memorable.

Your wedding, your way

We don’t offer a formal wedding planning service, and we don’t believe weddings need to follow a set formula.

Instead, you are free to shape your wedding in a way that feels right for you. We’re always happy to share our trusted network of local suppliers, including caterers, florists, photographers and stylists;  many of whom already work with guests celebrating at the Long Barn.

We’ll help you connect with the right people, without the pressure or cost of a traditional planning package.

Enquires

If the idea of an intimate, multi-day wedding at the Long Barn feels right for you, we’d love to hear from you.

There’s no obligation at this stage. Simply get in touch to explore dates, availability and whether the Long Barn could be a good fit for your plans.

We’d be delighted to meet with you and show you round the Long Barn, so that you can get a feel of the place.

A huge thank you to Angela Waite Photography and Minnie Bees Florists for the staging and photography show here.

Wedding packages

Weddings at the Long Barn are offered as a 3–4 day exclusive stay, with one of our wedding packages added to your booking.

Our packages are designed to keep things simple, flexible and transparent; providing everything needed for your ceremony, while giving you complete freedom to shape the rest of your celebration.

Wedding packages can be added to either a midweek or weekend stay and are designed to support your wedding experience, rather than define it. Catering, flowers, styling and photography are arranged separately, allowing you to create a celebration that feels right for you.

Full details of our wedding packages, pricing and what’s included can be found here:
