Big Birthday Celebrations

The Long Barn is renowned for hosting truly memorable celebrations, especially birthdays, which have been incredibly popular this year. Our birthday bunting has been much in use over recent months. We love welcoming guests as they arrive; sometimes for the first time, and sometimes as returning guests. From the moment they arrive, there’s a buzz of excitement, setting the stage for some unforgettable moments. All the planning and organisation has been completed, and guests can just concentrate on enjoying their celebratory stay with friends and family.

R&R came back with their family for the third time to celebrate a 90th birthday, with 4 generations of the family. As well as celebrations in the Long Barn, they booked a buffet lunch at the Moors Inn for their wider friends and family who lived locally. And the West Barn was a perfect space for the family to spread out into along with the garden for family BBQs. We have travel cots and high chairs available, as well as child friendly crockery. So guests have to bring the minimum with them for their little ones.

D& M celebrated a 70th birthday with 3 generations, and booked Angela, a local photographer for some family photographs. Thanks to the family for letting us share some of the lovely photographs that have captured their stay. They booked a family meal at the Moors Inn as part of the celebrations and we hope to welcome them back for their Golden Wedding Celebrations. More “happy moments” to be made as a family together.

Wedding Celebration

M&S got married in the morning, and then arrived with their wedding party later that day for a celebratory stay. Wedding guests arrived for a congratulatory drink in the pub, and then came down to the Long Barn. They ordered a buffet from local Simply Delicious, one of our recommended caterers.

It was a busy changeover day, but we were still able to receive their buffet, making sure that everything was ready for their arrival. We even had enough white flowers from the garden to complement our wedding bunting. And their celebration was made all the more special because Sunderland won promotion to the Premiership that weekend! What a start to the wedding festivities (unless you’re a Sheffield United fan, of course…)

Here to help

It means so much to us to have the guest feedback that we’ve shared in this blog.

There can be a lot of stress and expectation when organising a large gathering, especially for a special celebration. We’re here to help, and to help make sure that your celebration is tailored to exactly what you want. Whether it’s the use of a local field for archery as one group asked for. Or smuggling in a decorated tea pot for a family reunion. Or even receiving and hiding a bike from Father Christmas. Just let us know how we can help.

You’ll find several blogs on our web site full of tips and ideas when planning a celebratory gathering. And we have a whole host of local suppliers we recommend; from flowers to balloons to catering.

So all you need to do when you arrive is enjoy meeting up with your nearest and dearest. And start creating wonderful memories together that will last a life time.
