We’re always happy to answer any guest questions; we appreciate that you want to make sure that your stay with us is perfect. So please do contact us anytime with any question, and we’ll do our best to answer it asap.
With lots of enquiries and bookings over recent weeks, we answered quite a few questions.
All the answers are in our digital welcome guide, but we thought it would be helpful to answer the most common questions here as well.
1. Do you take dogs?
Yes. We now welcome up to 4 well behaved dogs depending on breeds; we increased the number post covid when many people asked about bringing multiple dogs. We blogged about how dog friendly we and the local area are here. We have just a few doggy rules we ask you to follow.
2. What time is check in/check out?
Check in is any time from 4pm; if the barn is available earlier, we will text you. If we have guests leaving before you, we need plenty of time to get the barn sparkling before your arrival. You are welcome to park in the courtyard and go for a walk if you arrive early. The Moors Inn is open all day; many guests head there for some refreshments if we are still getting the barn ready.
Check out is by 9.30am. Weβre sorry that we canβt make this any later. We have our cleaning team booked to come in asap so that we have time to clean the barn ready for the next guests.
3. What about getting a key?
The barn has a keypad and we change the code between guests for security. We will be here to welcome you to the barn and show you around.Β Weβll let you have the key code then.
4. Where do we park our cars?
There is room for up to 8 cars depending on sizes in the gravel area of the car park.Β If there are more cars, let us know and weβll show where you can park in the village. We ask guests not to park cars in the road outside the barn as there is a sharp corner just past the barn entrance on the way into the village.
5. Can we book a caterer?
Yes, lots of our guests book a caterer for a special meal. We have our recommended caterers listed in our welcome guide. If you want to use some one different, please let us know when booking for our insurance purposes.
6. Can more than 14 people stay in the barn?
Weβre sorry but we can only allow 14 people in the barn. We have 3 travel cots available for little ones in addition to this.
7. Can we book a meal for 14 at the Moors Inn?
Our wonderful pub is deservedly very popular and gets booked up well in advance. We suggest when you book the barn, that you also book the Moors Inn if you are planning a meal out (They have a private dining room that seats 14)
Weβre sorry, but the pub isnβt able to supply takeaways for 14 people; we have suggestions for takeaway options in our welcome guide. Some places may deliver, but you should ask before ordering.
8. Can I arrange supermarket delivery?
Absolutely, all the main supermarkets deliver here.Β We just ask that you arrange for it to arrive when you are here so that you can check for substitutions etc.
We also suggest a number of local businesses that can supply you with terrific local produce.
9.Β Can any beds can be split into singles?
The superking beds in bedrooms 1, 4 and 5 can be split into singles; you’ll be asked how you would like them to be set up when you book the barn. on line. There is a plan on our web site which shows you which these bedrooms are.
10. Can we hire a hot tub?
We’re sorry but due to the environmental impact of hot tubs, we ask you not to hire them in. We are happy to accomodate your own inflatable ice bath. We had a guest ask to bring one to a recent retreat; very bracing in the Yorkshire weather…
