September often feels like a month to take stock and start anew. A good excuse to breath and reboot as autumn is welcomed in.
Every September, the North York Moors get together with local businesses to create a month-long mindfulness themed events programme. The aim is to help you de-stress and reconnect whilst surrounded by the beautiful landscapes within the national park.
This year there’s a great programme of events coordinated by the North York Moors. From mindful walks to outdoor yoga sessions to creative writing retreats, there really is something for everyone.
Wellness Space are running their 10th retreat with us in the Long Barn in September. The West Barn with its underfloor heating makes a wonderful yoga studio and we now have a number of different teachers running retreats with us through the year.
Claire at Wellness Space has already booked two more dates in May and November 2024 if you are interested in booking a relaxing weeked of yoga and great food at the Long Barn.
We can also arrange relaxing and mindful activities in the Long Barn throughout the year for guests. Alison of Adventures for the Soul can run a variety of activities from dark sky walks to mindful sessions in the Long Barn.
We now can offer guests the services of Sam, an excellent reflexologist who can come to visit you in the barn for individual reflexology sessions. Jackie has already had two sessions and can vouch for them being incredibly relaxing. We can also arrange for a local yoga teacher to come to the barn to run your own personal class.
Fancy losing yourself with a creative waterpainting session? Ione Harrison, a local artist can tailor a session of water colour painting (all materials provided) in the West Barn.
And if the thought of something mindful makes you run for the hills (like Ian…) we can let you know our favourite walks from the door which are quite beautiful at this time of the year. As well as our recommended pubs for a very mindful beer.
