It’s really important to us to support local businesses and also encourage Long Barn guests to do the same. Now more than ever, local businesses need our custom.

In this week’s blog, we’d like to introduce you to Florian Poirot. With a name like Florian Poirot, you have to decide to do something special in your life. 

Florian is the most amazing pastry chef from Nancy, a city in North Eastern France. We first tasted his pastries when he had a regular stall at the Malton Food Festival, and we were delighted when he opened his shop in Talbot Yard.

Florian now sells from his shop and online; he also runs cookery classes. If you are a fan of Bake Off The Professionals, you can see some of his creations in the opening credits. Florian also offers click and collect too. 

His macarons are the best we’ve ever tasted. Every time we taste one, it’s our “new favourite”; the flavours change regularly as he uses seasonal produce when he can.

Our current favourites are Passion Fruit and Milk Chocolate, and Salt Butter Caramel.   

With Easter just round the corner, Florian is offering the most amazing Easter Eggs and goodies for sale. From mini praline eggs to chocolate bunnies; check out his on line store and be seriously tempted.

And whilst it may be a “naughty” purchase, you can justify it as you are supporting a local business….
